The Los Angeles International Ukulele Festival, presented by Kala Koa Entertainment, is a one day festival in celebration of the 4-stringed instrument that has captivated the hearts of many. Open to all levels of ukulele player, whether you’re an experienced player, an occasional strummer, or a curious spectator of this fun and engaging instrument. Ohana is excited to continue our support of this local festival as the presenting sponsor. Join us at the Ohana Booth for a bevy of fun activities for the whole family, and meet Ohana owner, Louis Wu! We’ll have a number of unique and wonderful instruments to try in person, and a full complement of accessories for your ukulele.

LOCATION:

Located in the heart of the Los Angeles South Bay, this festival is taking place at the Torrance Cultural Arts Center. The Arts Center is located minutes away from LAX— perfect for those flying in from afar. A number of spacious rooms for large classes are available, along with ample small studio space for more intimate courses. There is so much to do within the festival and the arts center – even a traditional Japanese Garden!

ARTISTS:

The LA International Festival makes the incredible happen – today’s popular ukulele talent across the globe is featured in a single day! This year enjoy performances by Cynthia Lin, Left Coast Ukulele Trio, Abe Lagrimas Jr. and many others! Cynthia Lin and Ohana recently collaborated to create a ukulele for the discerning student based on Cynthia’s experience and feedback from her students. You can check out the Ohana CK-14CL at the festival in the Ohana Booth, and see what makes this ukulele so special. Already own a CK-14CL? Bring along yours to strum along with Cynthia during her workshop!

  The Left Coast Trio is a Jazz ensemble featuring renowned bass player, Jennifer Leitham, ukulele and Bongolele® pro, Abe Lagrimas Jr., and celebrated classical guitarist Jeff Linsky. This trio puts on an amazing and entertaining set of improvisational jazz, featuring revitalized standards and new material. Be sure to take advantage of a rare bass workshop with Jennifer, as well as an Advanced Chords course with Abe! You can check them out in action in sample of their performance at The Coffee Gallery in Altadena, CA.

 
 

  This year Ohana is excited to have Puppettress and Ukulele Performer Alissa Hunnicutt on site! Alissa will be helping to MC the show, and on site at the Ohana Booth. This incredible and local artist has wonderful talent, and a soulful voice to pull heartstrings. Check out her debut CD, featuring her Ohana ukes, HERE.
