Ohana is proud to spotlight our limited edition ukuleles in rare Black and White Ebony. This wood is sought after for its unique patterning in blonde and dark to black marbling. Our -15BWE and -70BWE series makes use of the naturally unmistakable graining, but also of this wood’s inherent luster. Found mainly in Laos, and across Southeast Asia, the wood is often used to create striking objects d’art for the home.

SK-15BWE

"When I saw the samples of raw material, it was instantly obvious this gorgeous wood could make a marvelous and beautiful instrument! I chose to offer it with a solid spruce top, as the coloring is complimentary, and the solid spruce lends a brightness to the tone with additional projection. The high gloss finish was a no brainer—the marbling already echoes liquid, and the high gloss helps to bring out that fluid feeling."

-Louis Wu
