Conrad is an experienced multi-instrumentalist who shines as a solo player or in any group you put him in, and we are proud to call him an Ohana Artist. You can find him at various local ukulele meetups and events both large and small, carrying his arsenal of Ohana instruments, ready to jump in and jam.

Conrad is especially adept with our Ohana OBU-22 Short Scale Acoustic-Electric Bass, thanks to his background with the upright string bass. Best of all, Conrad is a local artist to our Southern California community, making it that much easier to work together and make great music.

More about Conrad:

Conrad Cayman is a Los Angeles-based multi-instrumentalist who plays guitar, ukulele, bass (upright and electric), plectrum banjo, and some percussion. He is the bandleader of Traditional Jazz (aka Trad Jazz) ensemble The Big Butter Jazz Band and freelances for other Trad Jazz, Swing, and Gypsy Jazz, and Tiki groups.

With Big Butter and other bands he has played Trad Jazz festivals in San Diego, Fresno, Sacramento, Pismo Beach, and New Orleans, summer concerts and events for the cities of  Santa Monica, Glendale, Beverly Hills, Malibu, Santa Clarita, and Torrance, and for special clients like actors Hilary Swank, Alan Tudyk,  the Geffen Playhouse, Southern Comfort, Jack Daniels, and the Rose Parade.

As a ukulele player, Conrad is an artist for Ohana Ukuleles and has performed at the Los Angeles Ukulele Festival, Strum in the Desert, and UkeCon San Diego. He has taught and played at the Reno Ukulele Festival, the NAMM Show, and the Centrum Foundation’s Acoustic Blues Festival in Port Townsend, WA. In addition to having taught ukulele classes for UCLA Recreation and privately, in 2025 he will be teaching at Centrum Foundation’s Ukulele Week, the UkeWest online festival, the Midwest Ukulele and Harmonica Camp, and returning to the Reno Ukulele Festival.
